Audience of the Future Live @ SXSW 2022 (13 – 15 March)

The Audience of the Future Live (AotF Live) at SXSW 2022 programme runs from 13 – 15 March 2022, featuring Research & Development projects supported by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) as part of the UK government’s investment in the Audience of the Future and Creative Industries Clusters challenges (delivered by the Arts and Humanities Research Council).

The Audience of the Future Live programme at SXSW 2022 includes: a series of workshops exploring ground breaking projects and creative technologies, as well as networking events and showcases co-hosted with Arts Council England’s Future Art & Culture, Unboxed and Department for International Trade.

Anyone registered to attend SXSW 2022, which runs from 11 – 20 March in Austin, Texas, can access the Audience of the Future Live programme at SXSW (13 – 15 March). This years SXSW Conference & Festivals offer an essential destination for global professionals, featuring sessions, music and comedy showcases, film screenings, exhibitions, professional development, and a variety of networking opportunities. UK IMMERSIVE TAKEOVER DAY

Key organisations from the UK’s world-class cultural sector come together to present a schedule of  must-see panel discussions, case-studies and networking events exploring collaboration, thought leadership and future-thinking in the creative industries. The sessions are targeted at professionals working in creative tech, production, policy, funding, film and art and aim to create new global partnerships.

UK-CANADA IMMERSIVE EXCHANGE @ SXSW

13 – 15 MARCH 11:00 – 18:00: CONGRESSIONAL BALLROOM (BOOTH 118), FAIRMONT HOTEL

Four immersive media prototypes developed as part of the first-ever UK-Canada Immersive Exchange be available for an exclusive first look to SXSW attendees at the XR Experience in Austin, Texas from 13 – 15 March.

They include Acorn (an AR experience), Alone Together (combining AR, artificial intelligence and hologram production), Gloaming (immersive multi-site VR experience) and Radio Ghost (an app-based ghost-hunt). The creators of these projects will participate in a ‘UK & Canadian XR Project Pitching Power Hour‘ panel session at SXSW, in which they will discuss the creative and collaborative process behind their XR prototype projects, plus possible funding and collaboration opportunities.

Developed by Potato, Sugar Creative and Tiny Rebel Games, Wallace & Gromit: The Big Fix Up combines the latest in augmented and mixed reality. An all new epic adventure in which fans are able to experience and interact with the story as it unfolds over time.

The Royal Shakespeare Company, in collaboration a consurtium of partners including Marshmallow Laser Feast, staged a live performance of Dream using motion capture as the culmination of a major piece of cutting-edge R&D.
